The Astrology Bro Daily - June 17th 2025
If this weekend broke something, now you get to rebuild it
(*Edited, as original title had the incorrect date of June 18th)
Read Me the Planets, Bro
Congratulations, you’re officially on the other side of one of the more poignant (or downright uncomfortable) astrological moments of the year.
This past weekend, we had both a Saturn square Jupiter and a Mars square Uranus aspect go exact within the same weekend—and with Neptune hovering close to Saturn, its influence was lurking too (more on that tomorrow).
Cool bro, why should I care?
The Jupiter–Saturn square is a reckoning of clashing archetypes: growth and optimism vs. limitation and frustration. And with Jupiter in Cancer, you may be feeling a quiet but powerful renewal of faith, like something inside you that’s always felt familiar is now germinating into an imperative. Whatever it is, it’s a nudge to finally embrace it, nurture it, and expand it into something with real purpose. Like: “Maybe I could actually build this thing from the ground up. Maybe it could work.”
But… Saturn in Aries is like, “lol no. How the hell is that going to work?” Every step toward that vision feels blocked. Like trying to go full speed on a treadmill that’s unplugged.
So sure, we can “rejoice” that the exact alignment has passed. But don’t buy into the doomscroll-y, fatalistic take on astrology. Planetary transits are not things that happen to us that we just have to “get through” until everything is puppies and rainbows. Planets aren’t puppet masters. They’re more like dials on the experiential and energetic clock. They help us name and locate ourselves and assign productive meaning within the deeper energetic currents that are ebbing and flowing in life.
This weekend the clock struck a big question of: What are you going to do about it?
Saturn in Aries challenges us to brave up. To own our will and to mature it. To develop the kind of confidence that isn’t about ease or simply being handed something. It’s about responsibility. Inner authority. The courage to completely and bravely face what’s hard.
If this weekend felt intense, it wasn’t random. Over the past couple years, we’ve been slowly reconciling this fundamental tension: expansion vs. restriction. It’s likely been simmering in the background for you already. But when the aspect goes exact, it often brings the tension into full view. Like: “Oh. This is a roadblock.” The current algorithm is not working, and if I want to get point B, it’s clear that continuing to do X and Y aren’t going to get me there.
Sometimes things just break
Throw Mars in Leo squaring Uranus in Taurus into the mix, and you’re adding electric (and sometimes very uncomfortable) volatility. This was a more acute moment of jagged conflict and upheaval within the larger gridlock of Saturn-Jupiter. Mars and Uranus together is rebellion, rupture, sudden movement. When in more harmonious aspect, it can feel like Promethean liberation. It’s like Mario Cart power-up which help us tap into new energy, new direction. We break the chains, bypass circumstances, and we start fresh.
But in a square, it is more jagged. It is the match strike of impulsivity lighting up the gunpowder of unresolved anxiety. There’s an insatiable itch to assert oneself, but it’s assertion with a firehose. With Mars in Leo, it’s a feeling of “I want to perform, to act, to express—and freaking energetically, goddammit!” Just “keeping it real” and being you can come out absolutely explosively. Ego conflict meets the Uranian theme of unpredictable shakeups to our material circumstances.
Some people experience the slow buildup of this aspect as anxiety, slowly humming higher, and the moment the aspect goes exact as a peak of tension that triggers something to snap. A shift. Something impulsive happens. It might have been you snapping. It might have been someone else. It might have been consequences from months ago snapping back at you. Either way, it gets your attention.
And maybe it is freeing. Maybe it makes a mess. A lot of the time, it is some parts of both. Now, in the aftermath, you’re standing there with broken pieces in your hands, figuring out how to rearrange them. It sucks when things break, but as painful or anxiety-provoking as it may be, it also offers the opportunity to intentionally reassemble in new ways.
Maybe you didn’t feel any of this. If so, genuinely, cheers. But for many others, the dial may have ranged anywhere from mild existential restlessness to holy shit, my life is in pieces and I guess I am starting over now.
If it is the latter, trust that it is going to be okay. That is not toxic spirituality. It is just how square aspects work in astrology. They do not float by like a breeze. They demand. They agitate. They bring things to the surface that can no longer be avoided.
But here is the trap to watch out for:
The Catch-22 is learning how to lean into change without convincing yourself that you have to change because you are inherently broken, bad, or not enough.
You are not broken. You are just at a turning point. And the planets, as messy and chaotic as they might seem, are not out to get you. They’re not assholes. They’re your friends. They are tumbling you around to shake something loose.

Jupiter Neptune Square going exact

…and more
Announcement!
I’m re-launching the Astrology Bro newsletter in a new format.
Starting now, I’ll be sending daily newsletters Monday through Friday, with a longer weekend edition that includes extended weekly horoscopes.
The weekday emails will be shorter (quick astrological “hits” for the day), but they’ll still be fun. Growth-oriented insight with my own irreverent spin. It’s a way to deliver the depth and reflective power of astrology without taking itself too seriously or leaning on the usual cliché lenses astrology often gets filtered through.
Designed to be read with your morning coffee or on your way to work.
Love your work bro. Love your fun articulation. So on point and full of hope.
Recently found you on Insta. Your explanations and analogies are so clear, I can hook into that. Thanks for sharing your work. Aquarius-Leo-Virgo
